Dancing Through Covid

A Digital Art Series

During the 2020 pandemic, I took the initiative to create a space for community and mental wellness through a series of dance pieces.

Dance is a very social practice, and the absence of physical presence marked a huge impact on morale for many dancers in the Chicago community.

Through a 7-month process, I managed weekly rehearsals, periodic virtual events, and one-on-one check-ins with every individual involved. These dance pieces provided a creative outlet for participants, an opportunity for exercise, and a sense of connection in what could’ve been a very isolating time.

My work through this series was recognized and featured at the 2021 Homescreen movement film festival. These works were also recognized with renown through online platforms.
