Exploring Asian-Black Intersectionality in the Dance Community

From July 2020 to May 2021, I received a $3500 grant from Northwestern University to conduct extensive research on Asian-Black relations within the dance community - particularly hip-hop adjacent communities here in Southern California - and how these relations affect the rest of the dance communities around the world.

Pulling from digital media, published anthropologies, interviews, public conferences, and more, my research was presented at the 2021 Association for Asian American Studies Conference. I also hosted a community event, where I shared my findings with dancers in the local Chicago community.
